Pick 3 Breeds of Chickens

Pics
1.) Nankin Bantams - really small, very colorful roos and amazingly friendly personalities - and it's satisfying to know that I'm helping save the breed from imminent extinction.
2.) OEGB - pretty much any color - and there are tons of those, which is one of the reasons I love 'em. My little red pyle and BBR boys were the absolute epitome of the perfect pet chicken!
3.) Black Jersey Giant - I know, I know, I'm a bantam fan, but the Kindergarten Dropout we inherited last year is just the coolest, sweetest-natured bird I've ever met. Besides, she sure looks ... interesting ... in that sea of little red Nankins in the coop ... what a sweetheart!

I prefer productivity over hobby, cost of feed.
1) White Leghorn
2) Not a true breed, but the sexlinks, chiefly, ISA browns
3) Barred Rock, though not tops in production
I haven't done much with the sex links because I heard they don't lay for very long compared with other breeds. Have you found this to be true? I favor Black Australorps because they lay so much and for so many years. I had been thinking about trying sex links just for fun and because I wouldn't have to feed cockrels until they got big enough to tell. I'm with you, I like production!
