After reviewing all the breeds mentioned I think I need about 20 more chickens!

I would take one of each if I could.

Looks like EE are the favorite.

Austrolorp, RIR, Delawares,

SOOO many choose from.

there is a nice variety of chickens and eggs as well

are you keeping any roo's? It might be nice to have a breeding pair or trio of a heritage or rare chickens. Dorking, Faverolee, Delaware

Will you have a problem with the freezing of combs that far north?? I love my Barred Rocks but they have large combs...My true Ameraucanas are nice and have pea combs...so do my EE..

I would have to say Easter Eggers hands down ! The light brown one is from my SLW. I also noticed that my EE's dont fight with anyone. They are super sweet too.

Black australorps are very cold hardy and lay plenty of eggs.But then again black minorcas lay huge eggs and are cold hardy also.

I LOVE EEs but my EE lays an egg everyday for like 2 weeks and then quits and doesn't lay an egg for a long time

All chickens can stop laying eggs...especially if they are new layers. My EE's hardly miss a day of laying.

Delaware's they are friendly and lay good.
