Picking a Cream Legbar Rooster

Which makes perfect sense if you make a lot of them and is very responsible. I got a batch from a poor breeder....Ug really made me mad. My guess is they were seriously inbred and line bred. These are mostly just for me. I love hatching and raising babies so I have been doing one set a year for about 3 years now. Health and coloring at birth is mostly what I am looking at, and I don’t like my rooster related to any of my girls. I did notice the rooster I traded for last year made my batch this year not what I wanted so he had to go. I have 2 picked out from the greenfire farms batch so I hope they are nice. Keep in mind the one I am picking is just a back up. A friend gave me his beautiful rooster a month or so ago and I am pretty happy with him. I will get a pic and see what you think.

I have never had an aggressive legbar rooster. Wow. We like them a little aggressive here. We have bobcat issues off and on and we are on right now. The rooster I have is vocal but not aggressive and his little flock is to small for him right now. Lost 3 girls in the last 2 weeks.

All of the cockerels were good looking birds but they varied in colors. The nice one I have keeps most of the girls inside the barn or at least real close. I have a blue icebar Roo that gets run off by the Legbar so he is aggressive just not to humans. The Legbar that I culled were very good looking birds it was hard as they were so pretty but nasty even at 5 months.

Forgot to say I had both Greenfire Farms stocks there production and the Gill Reese the cockerel I ended up with was the production line I didn’t want that one but all the Gill Reese ones were nasty very pretty though. The Gill Reese hens are very nice looking girls.

Here are most the babies. I love these guys, except so many boys this time
