Picking up the meaties this week!!

Well I decided with everything else I got going on this spring....Id still have some time and room to raise a few meaties. Was in at TSC picking up some feed and seed potatoe and got to talking with the manager...who happens to be a friend...and he goes how many chicks you want me to hold back for you next week when they come in? I go are you getting in any Cornish...and he said yep Cornish will be coming in with this first shipment. Well I didn't want to have 2 dozen birds right now..but getting an even dozen. Going to raise 8 for the freezer here and 4 for a buddy. Maybe get another batch depending on how long TSC has them. But 8 should be enough for some summer chicken!
Will post pics and updated pics every week of them!

Good Luck, I'm picking up my broilers tomorrow. I'm sharing an order with a friend so I'm taking 13 and he's getting 12. I'm also getting 50lbs of starter feed free with the chicks!

On MotherEarth they had a list of different types of chickens & their purpose. I think I'm going for some Buckeyes next time. Nice to have choices

I'm picking up our C X's on the 6th. Yum! Well, guess I have to wait 8 or so weeks but, they'll be yummy then!

Last year we got 30 white rock meaties and everybody wanted to buy some, so this year we are picking up 60 on May 1st and we already have most of them sold..good luck
