Picky Ducks

The company that makes the feed I give my ducks changed their formula slightly (it's still got everything they need and is good for chickens, geese, and ducks, they just added black soldier fly larvae), and my ducks are turning their little bills up at it. I mixed the last of their old food with it and also some oats, but they want nothing to do with it. Will they be more interested once they're a little more hungry?

They get Romaine lettuce at night before the bath while I'm cleaning their cage, but since I'm out of frozen peas cutting out afternoon snack time will be easy.

My ducks are very particular about their food too:
Pellets: Only those from the local feed-mill, if i dare to buy a bag @RK they waste half of it
Cat-Food: Most loved is 9Lives, acceptable is the Kroger brand, everything else i receive strange looks
Greens: Wheat-Fodder is OK, Oats fodder will be grunted for, Rye - Humon, are you trying to poison us?
But if they're really, really, really ... really hungry they eat what i give them.

We are having some success! Hooray! I didn't want to go to every Tractor Supply within an hour of home looking for a discontinued chick starter feed while the world is freaking out about hoarding toilet paper and hand sanitizer. I mean, it sounds exactly like typical me type behavior, but, still.

The food. Was not. Ground up enough. *head/desk* Literally, that was a large part of the problem. The little nerds prefer a powdery consistency. I'm like, "You're infuriating, but look at how cute you are!"
