Thanks so much for posting - although I know how those duplicate posts happen, it sure is frustrating, ain't it?? Glad the mods got it straightened out~!
 
Thanks, yes, I feel great about the first chicks ever hatched here. I love my little backyard flock!

Thanks crawfodmama and theoldchick. I actually think the OEGB hen (Dove is what we call her) is a little more serious about brooding than the phoenix hen. The OEGB is only 7 or 8 months old, but she will sit on the eggs while the phoenix will get up when I throw in BOSS or cracked corn.

Dove was actually beating up a Buff Orp hen this morning, I think it got too close to her nest
