Pics from today !

Henry Thanks for the info that yours are Favorelles. I was all happy about it until I read your next post about the not great layers part!!

Eeeek! I got ten "pullets" in a mixed batch and I am sure that three are roos! If three are roos and three are lousy layers - ugh!

BTW I love throwing Nasturtiums in a salad just to add color! I also lay them on top of salads for parties and then surprise everyone by eating them!

Henry!! How nice to "see" you! Your flock is gorgeous and so is your garden. I had grand plans for mine this year but as usual, it's all weeds with a few veggies struggling to survive. I do have an enormous Carmello tomato plant on the deck though. I haven't grown them before but read great reviews of their flavor. I got it planted late so the 'maters are still green but there's lots of them!
I love love love Brandywine tomatoes and just bought one at the food co-op last night. Can't wait for dinner. Mmmmmmm.
Can't wait to see pics of the new birds when they arrive!

Don't get me wrong they lay an egg a day but it is small so I would say the are alright layers and there personality is great mine have poop on there butt fluff constantly although I give them yogurt and trim it hopefully it is just because they are from hatchery stock keep them they are the friendliest softest chcikens ever!
