Oh tonight is night 20 and the chicks are begining to hatch , so far i can see two eggs with pips and hear loud LOUD chirpping! .. oh and i candled the eggs out of curiousity .. and Oh my GOD ! the size of the air sack is BIG! Did not realize it gets so big .. anyway .. i'm off to bed here .. at 1 in the morning Irealnd time! ..maybe before work in the morning at 7 i wil have a surprize! ... this is my 1st time getting to this stage with chicken eggs, this lot include buff sussex and the next batch (e bay);s .. not to sure if they will hatchare a mystery batch ..

fingers crossed .. i'll keep you updated before i go to work and take pics of any progress ! ...

oh and I know i shouldn'ty have candled the eg but i wanted to get a picture to show the children in my class on teaching practice next term at university .. the kids are going to LOVE me bringing in some baby chicks !

Can you give some background on your hatch... type of incubator, number of eggs, etc.? Keep us updated.

Update .. one chick out and another totally zipped around pushing out! ... will be bak wif pics, still hear peacking from another egg!

heey guys! ... well out of 6 eggs 2 hatched, and 2 had no development and one had died early in development and then then final egg that was pecking this morning died , i decided to help it out but it had died and was fully formed, i buried it and was quite sad.

anyway

here are the pix !

anyway , still have another batch due ...friday .... but dont have much hope for them!
