PICS Massive 70 mile wide wall of dirt today Monsoon has arrived in AZ

Weather people are DIRECTLY responsible for changing "Casa Grande" to "CAH SAH GRAN-DEY". It makes me soooo mad.

You don't say "Lue-is Ville".

You pronounce it like the locals do, "Lui(l)-ville"

Rant over.

I heard that on the News the other night and rolled my eyes, then rhetorically asked DH "where is he FROM?!" DH responded "probably Ohio."

I think we should start a letter/email campaign to get news and weather people to say Arizona nameplaces properly.

BTW, Lewisville, Texas IS pronounced Lew-is-ville, but I've heard news reporters in Dallas (nearby) start pronouncing is Lu-E-Ville. GRRRR.

They can keep their hoboobs, lol.

Great pics everyone! I added a couple more AP pics to my first post.

There's nothing like watching our monsoon dust storms build, roll in, and engulf everything in their path. So beautiful but dangerous at the same time...just like our monsoon lightening storms and flooding rains.

It's very dry here with little rain, but monsoon changes everything and most of us here look forward to and love its arrival each year...not the damage or messes it creates, though.

I tried to tell him not to smile....

Laree, that's hilarious! My youngest is still trying to get it all out of her teeth after just having to go outside to call me in the storm.

I added a pic for you in the first post that shows the walls of WATER we get during monsoon...so much rain that everything floods...the rains are like a dam bursting. We're subtropical desert here.

Amazing lightening/electrical storms, too...see my avatar pic.

That's the one. Almost like there is a soft "L" in there.

My eliptical trainer looks like it has been abandoned for MONTHS it is so dirty. Even the (closed) piano keys are all gritty.

That's it! I am getting out the leaft blower and am doing some serious dusting.

Exactly!!!

I am sorry, I just had to laugh at the leaf blower dusting!!! Sounds like my idea of housework!
