they're so cute!!!

i agree that #8 looks like my lil rir did! and maybe the orange girl is a red star? she looks like an orange-y-er version of my little girls (but i've never seen a bo chick!). i think the lil eye-liner girls are your ee'ers, too!

awwwwwwwww - i can't believe that mine (who are only 3 weeks old now!!!) were that tiny just a couple of weeks ago!!!!

congrats!!!

and i'm still trying to figure out how to make the math work... i think it might work well if i could get it to apply to my checking account, too... 1=10... yeah!

So I was cleaning up the chicken area and I happened to look inside the box and see that Ideal had wrote down what kind of chicks the 'pullet assortment' were. Yay Ideal!!!!
So I have 5 Americaunas, 1 Brown Leghorn, 1 Barred rock, 1 Production Red, 1 Speckled Sussex, and 1 Production Black. I was happy to get a couple of white-egg layers since my other 12 are all brown egg layers.
So far I'm very impressed with Ideal!

They are adorable!!! Will post pics soon of mine from Ideal- they are amazingly healthy and active. I am very pleased so far.

OK, I'm going to give you my guess as to which is which.

Your five EEs (I don't think Ideal's are pure Americaunas) are numbers 3, 5, 6 (mine is noisy too, so much so that her name is "Racket"), 7 and 10.

Your Barred Rock is #9.

Your Production Red is #8.

By the process of elimination, that leaves #4 as your production black. The ones I'm less sure of are #1 and #2, but one of them has to be your Speckled Sussex and one is your brown leghorn.

Hope that helps! (and I'm hoping the "pros" validate my guesses!)

Edited to add: it's funny - mine are from Ideal, too - it's quite possible that some of our chickens are siblings! LOL!

I think your guesses could be very accurate! I'm guessing that a "Production Red" is like a Rhode Island Red. And Racket may be a good name for this one... she's a loud little thing!!!

Yes, as it was explained to me elsewhere on this board, it's a variety of RIR that is bred for outstanding egg production... but you couldn't show it. Perfect for the backyard!

They are all so cute.good luck with them and enjoy!!!!

B.T.Y. what/ where is Ideal??? on the web????

Uh-oh Seminole, have I reached the ranks of..... ENABLER?! hee hee.
