I can't get enough of these fluffy, funny babies. I saw a thread filled with pics of baby chicks and their growth by week and I thought it was a great idea! So without further ado - my new flock:

Athena, a Silver Laced Wyandotte, when she was 2 days old

Lucy, a Buff Orpington, when she was 3 days old

And last but not least, Henny Penny, a Buff Orpington, when she was 3 days old

Can they become more sweet, and yes they grow so fast. Still can not get my eyes off Becky - Athena sre also beautiful - Can not wait until I get wyandotte baby's to. :love

They have such funny personalities developing. Henny Penny fits her name perfectly. My grandma always had a Henny Penny in her flock. That one chicken who squawked and ran around like a crazy bird whenever something different was nearby. I never paid attention to her chickens as a kid. I just thought of them as background to the farming experience.

Becky's coloring is beautiful and Athena is starting to grow white around her shoulders. As a new chicken mom, I am fascinated by how they grow so much every day. I've been taking lots of pictures. Boy, that downy stage didnt last long at all. Becky and Athena sing every night when it's time to go to sleep. The others trill back at them. Then everyone settles in and its quiet.
