:weeeSet 31 eggs and got 21 babies. They were mixed coturnix eggs and gave us 9 browns (some may be jumbos) 9 yellow chicks... will these be white or goldens when grown? (4 have a little dark spot on the top of their heads), 2 tuxedo and 1 Cinnamon. The first 7 hatched on day 17 and the rest on day 18 (yesterday). Two of them pipped and zipped and then nothing for hours...I could see the membrane drying out and decided to do an assisted birth when I took the dried hatchlings out to go in the brooder. I could see them pushing and nothing doing with the membrane, so I just helped the shell along a bit and popped them back in the bator as soon as they pushed again they were out! They are all doing great and are soooo cute. Couple of them are yelling their heads off in the brooder right now. They can make some noise for something so tiny can't they?!? Probably eaten all the food again!!!

They are so cute. And so many of them. My brooder looks empty in comparison. I only got four form my 7 eggs. First time with Quail so hope to so better with the next settings. They do eat a lot dont they?? And evn 4 are very noisey at times. Hard to believe such a tiny thing has such a loud voice.

Congratulations!
You had a successful hatch, and they look really healthy. You and the girls did a great job; you are on your way to having a full house of quail.
Sincerely, Jim from Danville
