Thanks! I think the pond has been awesome for them. It's gotten up to 115 degrees this Summer and our chickens were struggling but my ducks were fancy free frolicking on the pond! We had to install misters for the chickens. The chickens have had issue after issue...the ducks....none. We might double our ducks next year for eggs and keep a few chickens for 'fun' but not rely on them heavily for eggs. Chickens have been really hard for us. I am not sure how many ducks we could safely have on our pond though.

I have Welsh Harlequins, Pekins, Golden 300s (frankly we find them gorgeous even though they are production hybrids- not too many 'brown' duck breeds!), Fawn and White Runners (one is crested) and Buffs- although I didn't show any Buffs here I don't think. Next year we may want some more 300s and WHs.

I know with our pond we currenlty have just about 30 ducks and the pond is not showing signs of over use. The only problem is that we havent had rain and the level of water is down...

I would post a pic of it but all I keep getting is error uploading pics.. And photobucket is down...
