Pics of my flock (pic heavy) Need help with 1 chick..spraddle leg pic.

FANTASTIC! feeders. How tall are they and do you take them down to fill them? what works best for you?

I have an idea that I hope works. I want to take a 2 inch PVC pipe and "split lengthwise" down the middle. I will have 2 feeders 4 foot long in halves. can put a block to steady them and they wont roll.

For a water feeder the same concept, but "end caps" on the end and a "slit 1/2" inch for the beak to prevent too much poop in the 4 foot tube. I will go to Tractor Supply and get a "float" so that the water will fill its self automatically when it gets too low. I must try your idea about the tall feeder you are a genious!!!!!!

I cannot take total credit on the feeders. As I said, I got the idea from here. Although I never seen one with the multiple feeders at the bottom as we did. I don't take the feeders down to fill them, we have a cap that just sits on the top and I pull it off and fill. It holds a ton of food. You could do it as long as you wanted as long as you can reach the top to fill. We can put an adaptor at the top to lengthen it for if we need them to hold more food than they already do. My chicks seem to love it.
The idea you had with the PVC cut length wise. DH was thinking on doing that but I really think the chicks would roost on it causing more work having to clean out all the poo. This works tons better. Plus the elbow at the bottom isn't a full elbow. I am unsure of the actual name (more of a "Y" shaped) but it comes right back instead of a slow elbow which doesn't give them enough room to roost on the opening to the feeder.
We are thinking about doing a PVC waterer some how too. Still working out the details on that. We still have painting on the coop we want to get done first so right now I am still hauling water.

Also the feeders are about 4 feet tall. You just have to go to the PVC aisle and work with the parts til you figure it all out. Took DH and I a while to make sure we had everything. There is a plug in the bottom so the food won't fall out. I never glued anything just pushed it on so I can pull it back off.
Anyways I did figure out a way to make one, same thing with PVC but has a "hood" on the top of the food opening so it could be outside and never get wet. When I make that one I will post a pic of it too.
PVC is the best thing ever. I made stands in my house for my house birds out of PVC and horse bandage stuff on the roost part.
Oh that gives me an idea, I will use that stuff instead of tape on my spraddle leg chick.

goz or mybe old nylons. I used yarn but it was a small 2day old chick. nylon or the goz would hold up better. I think you can fix it! Good luck!

hey i had a spraddle chick that couldn't walk at all, not sure if it's the same situation but mine recovered after heavy doses with Vita Flight bird vitamins with a dropper for a few days, then keeping vita flight in the waterer until they were out of the brooder. hope this might help!
