RIRs and BRs are the best purebred layers, IMO. Here are my 11 week old RIR pullets and BRs. The RIRs are from BamaChicken's wonderful super dark stock and the BRs are Hawkeye's last two daughters with my hen, Amanda (RIP, Hawk) Next to the last pic shows a New Hampshire pullet from Ideal, not a RIR. Rudy is a nice dark color, a2ms.
