Hey everyone! Been working on this for about 3 day, off and on. I was about to get it just about done today, but the sun went down before I could finish and get more pics. Maybe tomorrow I will be able to get some and post them.
Like I said. PLEASE be gentle. I am NO carpenter, and this is the first time I have even attempted to make something like this. This is a compilation of different pictures that I have seen and I am sure that I have done plenty wrong and even more that I could improve on.
I said be gentle, but please let me know if I could/should adjust something. I already know of one thing. I am sure I need some kind of window. I am thinking of making two on the sides above where the lids are placed above the hen nests.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks!
Micah
The dimensions are pretty much a 4x4x4 box with 3 nests on each side that are a little more than 12" square each.

Thanks you guys! To be honest, it changed form a time or two before it took it's final design. In fact, it kept changing till it's last board pretty much!
I think we'll be happy with it. I just hope the chickens will be. I only have one more door to put on and redesign for the windows a little. Shouldn't be too hard.
Then I'll have to start putting up the fencing. I can't let them run free around here. Just too many hazards.
The coop in under a 12x12 roof which will be fenced in. How much more of an area would be acceptable to keep 4-5 chickens in?
Thanks for all yours guys help!

Most go by the 10sq ft rule.. BUt I always say bigger is better.. The bigger the run the less the chance of pecking and the happier your chickies

Ok, so with 5 chicken dinners walking around, that would just be a 5x10 area. Correct? I'm sure I could easily do that if not double. Thanks!

Ohhh...and I'll probably try and get me a page put together sometime. I just have a LOT on my plate right now. Not over whelmed yet, but got to get a couple things knocked out soon!
