I haven't even started hatching eggs from my own silkies yet - I have been slowly building a flock. But here are some of my cockerels that I hatched from shipped eggs:

This is "Roy". He is just starting to crow. His brother, Siegfried, has an even bigger crest! I am looking forward to their babies.

This is "Justin Bieber". He started crowing at 2 weeks old!

I am probably going to use him with my black pullets to get some more blacks (I have a 50% chance from that breeding).

This is "Marvin". (A friend's granddaughter named him). I am not sure about using him - I've seen much fuller whites. However, he is from a B/B/S breeding, so I know his background, and I like his balance. I had another white cockerel from a different set of eggs - he was much typier, although he had split wing on one wing and was missing the third toenails on both feet. His chest stuck out so far he could barely keep his balance.
