We've got one of the Barred Rock babies in the classroom today, he either got smushed last night or hurt a leg, but Steven went out to feed after I left for work and found him in the kennel kind of leaning on the wall. So,,,, he gets packed up in a little portable cage and the next thing I know he's on my desk! The cafeteria manager brought some chopped ham and lettuce, the custodian went and got some electrolytes from the feed store,, he's doing fine now, happy, stuffed, spoiled,,,, I do think his leg or hip is hurt though, so he'll be a classroom/house chicken for now. I'll have to get a bigger cage for the classroom!

every time you take him home,, the next morning he'll be doing the same thing,,, he'll learn it gets him all kinds of attention and treats hahahaha

wow look at the warm sun!!! I'm Jealous! all your birds look so happy! I love baby chicks, but I Love watching them get their big girl feathers!!

You know, I honestly think I can say they are happy! They run to meet me, the scratch in the dirt and play in the grass and weeds, climb the trees, pay their rent on time, and just really entertain me well! People stop to admire them, get a big kick out of feeding them treats, or having a big roo sit on their foot, (guess who).

I do love when they run to me too! They get sooo excited when i let them free range in the yard! looking for goodies
