Pics of turkeys. How old do you think they are?

I really can't help on the age, but I am interested in knowing what others think....
I just aquired 8 of the cute little things...YEAH!!!!
They don't look to have the feathing in as well as yours though.Nor do I think they are as big as yours... I thought the person I got them from said they were between 7 and 9 days old when I got them on saturday.

Hope you figure out the age soon....

The picture that shows one of them stretching its wing out tells me these turkeys are well over 1 week old. That poult has pretty well developed wing feathers which tells me they are closer to 3 weeks old than 1 week old.

ok Im going to go with the older than a week thought cause they are big and are flying a little. I am so new to poultry (2months) but I have everyone here for advice when needed which is awsome. I wouldnt care if they where a month old cause its that much less time they will be out in the dogs fenced yard. poor dogs have to get chained till turkeys are ready to eat. unless cat eats turkeys... the little bugger jumped in with them in the middle of the night last night, he better watch his step cause I like my chickens and turkeys better than dogs and cats. atleast they will provide there keep:)

Use caution when moving them to an outside pen. It must be coon, cat, mink, weasle, owl,rat snake, etc proof. Young turkeys are very vulnerable to predators and chilling. Turkeys this young will die if they get wet and chilled or just chilled.

I put my turkeys in a larger version of large rabbit type pen I built inside one of my 10 x 20 pens. I keep the young turkeys in this cage with heat lamps until they are several weeks old. I open the cage door in the morning and let them fly out into the large pen for the day. They fly back into the cage at roost time and I close them up at night. I use a tarp to cover the top and sides during cool/cold windy conditions and uncover the sides during hot weather. If you just take these young birds and put them in a dog pen you will probably find most or all dead the next morning.

I havent decided what to do for housing yet but I know I cant just let them out in fenced area. I am going to cover the top with netting and problely build a house or let them go in the shed thats there.
