(Picture Inside) One hen laid three eggs, one with blood on outside. All in same day?

My buff orp. sometimes lays eggs with speckles but not all the time, have no idea why they have speckles sometimes, Welsummers usually lay a very dark brown egg. Who knows, maybe you need to set up a chair and watch some chicken TV to see who is laying!

 

[The Hen]

I just went out to the coop and found a blue egg with some blood on it. I received my hens from a friend and believe this is her first egg.

I also get speckled eggs sometimes, but doesn't last either.

Those specks are blood spots that have dried onto the egg. You can actually scrub them off with a hard side of a sponge if you really try. My Welsummer lays them the most often but I do get a few other sometimes with them. I also get calcium spots sometimes too, which are white.
