I'm not venturing a guess as to cockerell or pullett in this specific case, as I'm having my own debate about that with one of my SLWs. It is a beautiful bird, though!
However, I can agree with what has been said above about the dominant hen becoming more "roo-like" in the absence of an actual rooster. It isn't just behavior either - they even seem to change body shape; becoming less plump and hen-like and more strutty and upright.

Yeah, I would wait if I could. I'm no barred rock expert, but I'll admit being terribly wrong and almost giving one of mine away. I have nine chickens now. I was sure I had three roos about a month ago. Now I know I only have two. And I was basing it on comb, wattles, size, etc. 4 weeks can make a huge difference in how they look.
