YEA!!! And they only get better from here. The egg size gets bigger and I swear the yokes get darker and darker.

I dread the day we have to buy a dozen from the store to supplement.

We don't talk about how much the eggs cost.

We don't drink enough to count, we don't smoke, and it makes us happy. The family that runs the local lumber store continues to crack up every time we buy more for the coop. We started to pretend we were working on another project. The guy who owns it asked very seriously one day what corner of the coop were we putting in the flat screen!

However, since chickens were my idea, I can no longer tell my husband his RC (remote control cars, trucks) is the most expensive hobby I have ever seen.

Congrats on the first egg, it gets no less exciting for me every day to collect eggs! You will continue to love it!

LOL! Yep- my $1500(ish) egg was delicious!

My neighbor got the $750 egg while she was chicken sitting this weekend.

My husband (who is * technically* paying for all this) will have to settle for the $375 egg... assuming he's home for it.

With the Taj Mahal of coops, obviously you need MORE chickens!!!

You can never have enough chickens. Only on a forum like this can you say you spent $$$$$$$$$$$$ on a chicken and we all applaud you for it.

I can't help but laugh but as it was said that first one didn't cost a thing according to chicken math.
