I can't have roosters where I live so this is what happened to one of them. I paid someone else to process him. He's young at 16 weeks but ended up weighing almost 2 pounds.

He was very well cared for. I was given a straight run of 6 chicks and they were all my babies. I made up my mind early on that I would eat the boys since they are all dual purpose breeds. Yes, he is my first bird on a plate. I don't feel sad at all about eating one of my "pets." I have 2 more in the freezer and look forward to my next chicken dinner
