So for the past few weeks Lacey has been going missing for a day or two and then coming back for a day. She's never been acting broody up until today when she was waiting for me outside the feed shed after being missing for 3 days. Well I think she's acting broody anyways. I've searched for her nest for hours but can never find her. So looks like there could be baby Lacey's after all because I can't stop her! I think she's sitting in someone else's field, she seems to be resting a lot today so it must be a long walk, so not sure when she'll go back but she can't be off them for a full day if she's properly broody now.

Well I've just been back up to the hens and Lacey is still off her eggs. Decided to look back in the basic places and came across a nest of eggs in an old wooden cage. They are Josie the Indian runners though. There was 21 in total. When I went to get the bucket to collect Josies eggs I saw an egg under the reshes which turned out to be another duck nest. This one has to be Lacey ducks but whether it's her current or old nest I don't know. She has nine so I will see if that's hers. I've been looking for these two nests for ages, in my field, and another two fields and the whole time they've been right under my nose! Will scramble all Josies eggs and feed them back to the chickens

. The eggs weren't Lacey's in the end!! Still no Idea where she is sitting!!!

Alice your tail is lovely and it looks like your very proud of it.

You've got a lot of area for them to be hiding their nests in. They are great at hiding eggs as you already know. Lacy may be bring some little ones home. At least you tried and it sounds like Lacy is determined.

I don't blame Lacy for not liking the snow I don't like snow either. Great pic of her sticking her tongue out at it.

Thanks for sharing the great pics with us they make my day.

Why is she screaming? Is she done with winter or her feet stuck or Just wants to make sure you see her and not step on her? I am not sure I would not hatch a Lacey egg and have Doily duck

Thank you. I think she might be, but they might not not hatch if she keeps staying off for two hours everytime she gets up! She hasn't come for breakfast this morning, so so she's maybes having a full day on.

Think I need a bigger egg money pot. The hens and ducks have made £139.40 so far this year and I owe them a little bit too. They're doing well!

If you were in the United States I would be the first in line to get a Lacy baby. Of course I would want a white one just like her.

The hens are making all kinds of money. That would buy lots of meal worms.

Looking at Josie's crop it doesn't look like she needs anymore food. It is huge.

Thanks so much for the pic of Bella. She is beautiful and of course my favorite.

I'm glad to see your snow melted and I hope that makes Lacy happy.

PI looks like a strict superviser there. That face is of hers so serious looking.

Thanks again for the beautiful pics and have a great day.

Thank you! Josie can eat endlessly and not gain any weight, don't know where she puts it! Its probably because she jets around the field 24/7!
