So I'm hoping that these pictures of my "girls" will be the end of my debate of their gender. I believe we have one roo out of the four due to the late and long feathering of his "saddle feathers" I believe they're called. You should see my try and explain this to my non-chicken friends.

Really? Oh my. The top one though has red in his comb and under his chin already. Is that normal for pullets? Shoot...we need a bigger coop now.

It's normal for the wattles to start to pinken up at 5-6 weeks, but none of those have a cockerel's coloring. Now, there are some exceptions to the rule, but I see no boys in that bunch. I've raised these for several years, so I'm pretty confident. Been fooled only a few times.
 
Wow, what a difference two weeks makes! You should have seen me trying to get a still photo of my four! It was comical to say the least. Well, thanks a bunch! Now we can officially name everyone!
