How can I tell if I have a rooster or a hen with the easter egger? Mine are about 4 weeks old. I didn't try to feather sex them. They all look the same. I don't see any difference.

By 4 weeks they look all the same, you probably have all pullets. Post a pic, I would love to double check for you.

Thanks for responding. I have added a couple of pictures. It was tricky trying to hold and have my 11 yr. take pictures. I couldn't see what he was getting & chicks were fidgety. LOL

That's a pretty red comb on the second one... so I would guess a roo... but I'm no expert. Does the first one have a red comb too?

Where is Illia? She is great at telling sex of EE's I would say the second one is a roo based on feather coloring and comb color.

Hmm. Now how do the crown & feather colors play a role in determining whether hen or roo? That is interesting. Should I retake some pictures tomorrow and post? My son took a lot of pictures but not many focusing on the crowns.

I have a batch that I ordered from a hatchery and I thought that they look very similar to what I have. I'll have to pay closer attention to the coloring of the crown.

Thanks for your feedback.
