This duckling was not making any progress, so I decided to help. Note the color of the membrane and the absence of any blood or veins. The key is to go slow, take very small pieces of shell off and to stop immediately if you see blood.

You're welcome and thanks for sharing your pictures, they are good reference pictures! Your duckling is adorable!
 
All of my last batch I had to help legs behind their heads, pipped at th small end. All the ones I helped are happy and running around. Anybody I didnt help died. Last batch all birthed themselves. One more to go. Thanks to @Pyxis for a great article. I wouldn't have any. Babies without it.
