Clever title, huh?

I was cleaning up my memory card tonight and wanted to share some pictures of my girls (and a roo that has a new home now.) Only "chicken people" can appreciate pictures of other people's chickens so here ya go!

This is Louise. She is so spoiled. She stands at the back door and begs for treats (makes a ridiculous loud noise that doesn't sound like a chicken at all). If I'm sitting on the back porch eating lunch/dinner, she jumps in my lap and sticks her head right in my bowl. She's the "momma bird" of the flock and definitely at the top of the pecking order.

This is silly Truvy. The beards get me every time! She is such such a sweet girl. She loves to be toted around and is the only one of my girls that lays a blue/green egg. I think she understood all of the heart to heart talks we had about what color egg to lay a few weeks ago. ;-)

This is little Patsy. She's the tiniest silkie and while ridiculously cute, she's kind of an Attitudy Judy! She "screams" at the other girls if they are bothering her. If I pick her up and she doesn't want to be held, she "screams" at me. Do any of your chickens do that? It's almost like a person clenching their teeth together and saying "grrrrrrr!!!!". She started laying on July 4th and has NOT missed a day since! Can you believe that? Her eggs are the size of quail eggs.

Perfect example of my goofy girl's personality.

My buff silkie, Dolly, is so silly. She is the most laid back easy girl of the bunch. You can see in this picture the size difference between the two- Dolly is very small as it is- Patsy is even smaller!

These two are good friends.

This is our pretty roo, Minnie Pearl. He was obviously not supposed to be a girl but I think he liked his fancy name. We kept him as long as we possibly could- even let him sleep inside at night so he wouldn't wake up the neighbors (just us) with his crowing. He was the most laid back, nice rooster I've ever met! He loved to be carried around and really protected all of the girls. No dove came anywhere near them! ;-)

We found him a good home with lots of ladies out in the country where he can crow all he wants.

Thank you for humoring me with pictures of my "children"!
