Pretty birds-are they laying yet? I've got 4 RIRs that are 10 wks old. I am hoping they start laying by mid-Sept. I've got 24 hens total-I ordered an assortment from Murray McMurray and I know most of the breeds but I am still trying to figure out a couple birds. I think when they are adults I'll be able to tell for sure what they are. Until then, I'm enjoying the mystery in guessing

Pretty girls. My RIR was hatched the first week of February and she is laying nicely now. The eggs are still kinda small but that will change. She has a much more developed comb than your girls. They are great chickens, friendly and curious.

they are not laying yet but soon i hope i read somewhere that rirs can take up to 24 weeks

I love then reds!My biggest red,named Red is laying like a hot moma!The other 6 are kinda still young.I will post some pics as soon as I learn how...lol......
