Pictures of my White Jersey Giants

Nope...never laid an egg.

You give up egg production when you go for size. Jersey Giants were originally bred as a meat bird. So, they gave up egg production for meat production.

(Why Leghorns are SUCH good layers. Are VERY small yet produce MANY eggs. )

My Black Giants are laying up a storm, my Whites are not quite old enough yet.

Awww they are so pretty!

I hope they do start laying for you Hannah! I would love to get a pullet from you in the Spring to go with my possible Buff Orps

If only he was! We were planning on putting the "four" girls with our buff orps, so we would have pure orps and orp x jersey crosses.

We couldn't give him up though, so now they have their own separate breeding pen. He is just now starting to crow and it is hilarious to hear!

I know this is an old thread...but I am so in love with my white JG's....except the legs. The birds are huge and white, just beautiful. At 3 months they are bigger than my 2 year old RIR's. The only place I could find them was a hatchery. One hen has some darkening to her legs but the others are all yellow. Are lighter legs ok in white JG's? I noticed the OP's aren't dark either.
