Did the black one look like(the black in background , he’s hard to get pic of )this when it started to get its rooster feathering?

Not too similar with regard to coloration but the feathering started like that. The rooster I had was nearly identical to a couple of hens with that “wild” looking pattern like this one.

My blue boy is gorgeous now but man he’s like a horny drunk college kid he is mounting my hens all dang day and they have to snap at him lol
