PIE EMERGENCY HELP NEEDED

Ok, this is the base recipe:

This is a fine fine cake, and if you follow the recipe exactly, people will rave about it.

BUT, I do it a little differently. For one, I double all of the spice. I like a lot of spice. I will triple the ginger and/or clove if the fancy strikes.
I do more like 1 1/2 cups brown sugar and 3/4 cup white sugar (I don't actually measure...)
I make it in a 9×13 pan, not a bundt pan.
I use 1 cup of plain whole milk yogurt instead of buttermilk.
If I am making cupcakes, I add nuts. Walnuts or pecans both equally delicious.
Finally, I frost it with cream cheese frosting.
It is MAGICAL. Fills your whole house with a lovely spicey aroma.

I made the cake. It is delicious! I used some of your tips too - but I measure as I'm too nervous not to. Thanks for sharing and it made the house smell wonderful!
