Color question. Pied male crossed with white hen will give me?
Then a IB hen that has white primarys x with pied or IB male gives me? How about IB male and White hen? Thanks....

First unless one of three colors, purple, peach,or cameo.(sex link)

The sex has no bearing on the one you list.

Pied Xwhite=100% pied chicks

Pied X IB with white flights(split pied) =pieds and blue split pied chicks

IB X White = all blue chicks split white.

If your male is the pied with patches of white on body aside from wings and chin:

Pied x white= half pied half white chicks.

Usually birds with white flights with background unknown are split whites. Split pieds I have been told tend to be either solid colored or show very small amount of white.

Dark pied can look like split whites with the white on wings but they are homozygous pied. (btw dark pied x white= 100% pied)

The "problem" is, dark pied and split white birds can look the same(yet give different breeding results) and if bought with history unknown the only way to find out is by breeding and see what chicks are produced.

In any case:

Pied x white flights(split white)= Pied, solid white, split pied, split white.

Pied x white flights(dark pied)= Pied and "white flight birds(dark pieds in this case)" only. No whites or split birds.

Pied x white flight(split pied- unlikely but just in case)= Pied, dark pied, split pied, split white.. no whites.

IB blue x white= all blue split white.. normal colored birds with white flights.

IB blue x white flights= it's best to just expect chicks to be half blue, half blue splits(those would be ones with white on flights).

Kev got it right.

Dark pied to white = 100% pied chicks

Thanks Kev for catching that long night.

Best if you know what the white flight are out of. also if they have white throat patch.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking on trading one of my IB hens for one that had white flights, but background is unknown......

Here is my one male, is he just a Reg Pied?, he has a couple of pure white tail feathers too....
