I don't know if I can post pics, little peachick is still in with 'mama' hen and she would likely take my arm off if I try to mess with baby... but the little pied chick (6 weeks old today) is mostly white with some tan feathering on the shoulders and back. Sometimes when it moves it's wing just right, one wing appears to have one rust colored feather on the flight feathers (a few feathers in from the end?) Is there a chance that this could indicate male?
Also, not sure when to separate it from 'mama'... night temps are in the mid 50's (right now temp 53 and 84% humidity). Sometimes in the cooler temps it shivers a bit. The only reason that I want to get it away from her before too long is because I would like to be able to handle it without facing the wrath of mama hen. Thoughts?
