Piegon outside

Well i went out to feed the chickens and seen a piegon standing in our fire wood carport.It does not seem to be afarid of me,i put scratch on the ground for it.It seems to have a leg band on,would this tells me who owns it?

Usually you can find out. Depending on the band type. I am sure someone will come on and tell you where to post the info...I had to do it once. T

it sounds a lost racing homer , on the leg band it shld give the year of birth and poss the initials of the race club , but i dont know who you would call ? sorry

Catch the bird (easier with a box, propped up with a stick with a string attached to yank it out from under the box. Put some food under there, of course), and post ALL the information on the band. Then I can trace it for you and relay the contact information.

If it doesn't seam to be going anywhere wait til this evening he will probably roost by your chicken coop and be easier to catch.

ok i put the cat carrier out and tried to catch,but it flew and is sitting on chicken fence.Do they eat the same as chickens?

They can. If you have it for more than a day or two they need grit to help digest.

Ok the same as chicken grit? I do not want to hurt it,hopefully a hawlk will not catch it before i do.
