Pier blocks

Soon i would like to build a large covered chicken run. Could i sink blocks just enough and attach the 4x4 to the saddle instead of digging deep post holes?

I use deck blocks for all my chicken housing. Their shape does make predator proof fencing difficult so your idea of burying them is a good idea.

I cant think of any reason why you couldnt sink them. I'd just make sure the bottom of the hole is packed/tamped down well, some gravel for leveling it and to help drainage

Thank you. I just was making sure that using these blocks would be just as strong a burying the posts two or more feet deep.
