Pig artificial insemenation

I've done it before....it is a very simple process. The AI straws are usually corkscrewed like a boar's penis and you literally screw the wand into the female's cervix until it locks. Add in the semen and she is as good as bred!!

Mean..... Not mine! Lol my big girl lives with the goats and actually lived in the chicken coop the first few months I had her. She is about 400+lbs and let's a goat eat with her. This same goat also curls up and sleeps on top of her. The goats will use her as a step later and she doesn't care. There was one roo that would grab her tail and try to mate her... The poor confused thing. Unfortunatellly a coyote got him.

Now I did have York cross feeder pigs and they were crazy! But not mean. It is mainly about how they are raised. Mine are raised on pasture and treated kindly.

I love my piggies. I'll try to post some newer pictures later.

I was in FFA doing my chicken thing. I was the only one that did it. The others were into pigs. They were loading the pigs into these "pens" to clean them off and whatever else they do. This pig ran full-on at me from across the building. I jumped just as it hit the wall to the right of me. I just don't do well with pigs...
