I raise pigs, usually 2 at a time.
Pig are only destructive annoyances if they aren't fed and housed properly. Our pigs have a 4 sided, straw-filled shelter, a 55 gallon water barrel with nipple, a mud-pit that I keep filled when warm out and a creep feeder. They also have buckets, balls and whatever else seems like it'll be good piggy fun. I have a mixture of cattle and hog panels and t-posts for fencing and a tubular metal gate that chains shut.
My pigs have NEVER tried to escape. They have shelter, water, a big ol mud pit and most importantly, I never let their creep feeder get empty. I visit my piggies daily, play ball with them, throw snowballs at 'em, bring them treats and scratch their itchy bums. They are giant pink dogs basically.
My chickens free-range and adore the pigpen... the pigs root around, dig up bugs and the chickens eat. They also like whatever pig meal the pigs drop. The pigs have never gone after the chickens but if they did, the chickens can easily leave through the tubular gate (how they get in there to begin with) and the pigs cannot follow.
I adore pigs. They NEVER EVER poop in their house!! They pick a single corner of the pen and only poop there. I can clean up after 2, 200lb pigs in 10 minutes, just shovel up the poop. As long as they have ample shelter, food, water and space, they never try to escape and they are darn yummy!!
