Pigeon dander?

My pigeon keeps shedding small tiny white colored flakes that might be dander. Will giving my pigeon a bath help prevent this flaky mess?

When a bird molts and grows out new pin feathers they are covered by a sheath which gets preened off into kinda shiny flakes.
I don't know jack about pigeons but I assume all birds go thru this.

Pigeon dander is skin flakes and pinfeather flakes. It can cause severe allergic reactions and chronic health issues in some people. Providing a daily bath opportunity is probably a good idea.

Do pigeons shed more dander than, for example, a parakeet?
