Hey my male pigeon got out the door before I could close it. He has a nest with a mate that is still on the nest. It's his first time out side and he flew around the loft for a few minutes the whent and laned in the neighbors tree it's dark now. I have had him about 5 months, what are the odds of him coming back in the morning?

Thanks he landed about 200 yards away so I am hoping that he gets hungry and wants to see is me in the morning

My pigeon got out this morning. It doesn't have a mate, but the coop where it's parents and food is by some trees. I when it got out it flew around the house and yard several times, then sat in a tree. It keeps flying around then landing in a tree near its coop.
(This has happened before to its "dad". The dad came back in the coop because his mate was setting.)
Will it come back and try to get in the coop? I can't leave the coop open because of my other pigeons and chicks that are in there.

It should keep trying to get/come back, unless gets chased etc off from BOP, or gos looking for another mate. maybe release other pigeon/s close to it n get it to follow them back i. coop. Nesting pigeons can get extremely aggressive, and it my not feel safe/compfy in coop no more. always feed flown pigeons in evening close to dark after trapt in, and what they'll eat in ten mins to half hour only. that makes them come when you want them to, otherwise free flown ones left feed out do n go where ever when ever.

Nesting pairs are kept seperate as need a lot morefeed, etc..
