Pigeon Massacre

Hmmm, I hadn't considered a weasel. They are pretty small (the ones I've seen around here anyway), is it possible to really keep them out of an outdoor pen? I sure don't want to go through this again but really enjoy having the birds so would hate to give them up. Growing up we had chickens, ducks and a goose. The ducks and goose free ranged during the day, the chickens had a pen. I don't ever recall anything dramatic happening to any of them.

The good news is it looks like the injured fledgling is going to make it. He's stronger every day so fingers are crossed that the emt gel is doing it's thing.

Thanks for all your support and suggestions.

Sorry for your loss hope you find out what did it. I had something similar happen to me 2 years ago. Came out and half my chickens were dead or missing. Found out it was a raccoon and he was getting under the netting by the gate. I ran a pole across and zip tied netting to the pole so far I've not had another break in. I still keep 2 trap set & baited at all times. Its heatbreaking to loose something you've put so much time & effort into training or raising.

Even if someone's let their pet ferret out or it got loose, it's very likely to have done the damage too...
I'm sorry for your losses..
There's a guy the next street over who has racing pigeons and I got the joy last week of defeathering my yard and the next door neighbour's because of a hawk thinning the flock.
