Pigeon pair keep breaking their eggs

I doubt it... some birds don't seem to mind small changes, but some are very stubborn and will quit with any small change. Yours seem quite stubborn so I don't think painting it will fool them. You could try if you want, but they might not even sit on the old nest again if you keep switching it. I would try the sand or cat littler under the straw first.
yea, im 100% sure they will not be fooled

He did it again

At first it looks like this and its getting bigger and bigger until in breaks

they are very heavy pigeons, they will break them very quickly, it takes for him something like a week to do it. I said it before, he throws the nesting material. She is a great grit eater, she had it from the momment she got out of the nest. They are in direct sun light.
i reallt think this is all his fault because of 2 big ressons: 1) This is his first pair and doenst know anything about eggs 2) hatched from her until now and shes a great mother when were talking about eggs and babys

Thank you

I will agree to disagree. I keep king pigeons... very heavy and big.. so heavy some can't fly... they are the meat breed. I have never had any of them break their eggs, even when I put eggs from more fancy pigeons like Old Dutch Cauchines and German Owl pigeon under them to hatch.

I had some too, they 1-2 times step on the egg and break it just a little but the baby still hatched and got big and strong

In 1-2 weeks im going to buy a homer pigeon pair. I had before and i didnt had any problems with them, very good parents but i used them for fostering
I will ask you next year about letting them out because i didnt let any of my pigeons out till now and i hope i will get a lot of babys this year from them so next year i can let their babys out
