Pigeon

A lone pigeon landed on my porch tonight and thinks its sleeping there. I can get about two feet from it before it moves away. Must be someone's pet. I'm afraid something will get it there we have coons come right up on the porch. How in the heck did he survive this long sleeping in places like that.

That looks like a homing pigeon, let it be it will go home. It is just resting.

But what about the coons that get on the porch at night I'll worry all night. he's settled in for the night.

Do you think I should try to pick him up when it gets dark and put him in a crate for the night or just leave him be and hope for the best? I don't want to scare him and have him fly off blindly at night.

Put him in a crate if you want and give him only water with electrolytes because he might be a bit dehydrated do not feed him though. then in the morning drive a ways with him and let him go it doesn't matter in what direction you go
