Hi I have about 30 some pigeons and just got my loft done and I looked in the temperary pen and there was an egg in the hay but just one and no one was sitting on it so is this normal for them to do and I would like to know who's egg it is so I can leave tht pair iam just starting to move the pigeons into my new loft:) so happy to finally have them in the loft with actual nests:D

Until the pair is ready to set on their eggs to hatch, they won't set on them at all. It is normal for them to leave an egg somewhere until the other is layed. In order to see who's it is just keep an eye on what hen and male set on it. It can be a little hard to figure that out if the pair is flighty and runs off the nest anytime they see you, but you'll figure it out. No worries about an egg sitting around. Congratulations on your new birds!

I found out witch birds it was and now there is two eggs so I moved the rest into my new loft and left them and thanks I can't wait to see the babies hatch:D

I will post some tommorrow and it seems like my birds mate up and then they breed but after tht the cocks will do their mating dance and keep switching nests then they will go back to their mate but they can never stay in one nest because other birds push mates out of there nest will they settle in or is this normal?:D

I also like the loft, and love the nest boxes......... I once used an Ikea Shelf and nailed a board on the back, and it looked like a contemporary, post-modern pigeon nest box. I worry about myself sometimes.......
