I was actually going to post the same thing about "Mini", "TeaCup", what ever someone wants to call them being NOT true.....
I have 6 pot bellies. Not a single one is a "Mini". I love them all dearly. We have 3 males and 3 females. They are all spoiled rotten. They love attention and will follow you every where. I do believe alot of the 'over weight' pot bellies come from the owners feeding them WRONG....I am not saying I do everything 100% correct either as ours get treats, but in limitation. When we first got our first pot belly I was told you can feed them dog food (as a main meal).....Do not do that....Yes it is ok, for a treat.....
They do sell pot belly pig food. It can be exspensive....We actually have a mix made up for our pot bellies right from the feed mill. Males will have a smell if NOT fixed. As for teeth, I have never trimmed any of our pigs....There hooves I have done, but if the pigs have access to rough textures they will naturally trim them down themselves too...Ours have a few rock piles, and even a flat piece of wood that have shingles on it.
Pigs can be lots of fun. One of my males "Moo" will lay on my lap, he eats suckers off the stick, and LOVES the sweat tarts from Easter. They get lots of veggie scraps too.
We also have feeder pigs ( butcher/farm pigs).....They LOVE attention too.... Obviously they are a lot bigger, but will still try and sit on my lap if I am in there pen....
I love having our pigs. I wouldn't trade having them for anything...I say that with all our animals.
