Piglets

Here is a picture of Nutty Meg's piglets the day they were born. She had six! I need to take better pictures. They are a week old now and running all over their pen. They were going underneath the stall door and looking around. Momma had a fit. So we blocked the door off.

Sadly, momma layed on the black and white one two days ago and I found him dead. The other four are white.

Thanks. It happens with pigs but is very sad. She is an excellent mother. She must have layed on him and he wasn't able to squeal. I have herd her fussing when the piglets squeal. She always jumps to her feet and talks to them. For some reason she didn't hear this one.
The other five are so much fun to sit and watch. They are already snooping around mommas food.

Thanks. I really enjoy watching them. They are starting to explore momma's food dish now. I sprinkle some pellets around the outside of her dish for them to play with. I keep forgetting to take the camera back to the barn with me.
