My geese are the mafia especially during breeding season now they are in molt my  Muscovy drake who My gander jumped on last week has turned the tables and he actually is in charge of the geese. He makes them get away when he comes around and they listen to him too. It's actually funny. The geese will still grab hold of a chicken if it gets too close and run the female ducks off but they are very respectful of my drake. lol. JLynnsDuckies I'm happy to hear Oscars head is healing, we need to be very careful of the fencing we use, this year a member posted about their gosling getting his head stuck in the fence and died. I found one of my Muscovy females stuck in the plastic fence we put up to keep the chickens off the steep bank behind our house so I had to go and buy metal poultry fencing to put around the bottom to keep that from happening . Always something. :)

Edited because my grammar is awful and I didn't pay any attention to spell check:rolleyes:
So is mine! No judgement here! :)

Miss Lydia, I have a question about Oscar's head for you. As of yesterday it was healing nicely. Now he's starting scratching it as I assume the scab is itchy. He has scratched the scab off and now it's open and raw looking again. My question is, is there anything I can do to prevent him from doing this? Hubby mention putting liquid bandage on it. That way he would be scratching at that instead of the wound. I told him I would ask here as I didn't know if that would be a safe option. Any suggestions are welcome! Here's a picture of his head if that helps at all.

I'm not sure if you can use liquid bandage on water fowl they can be sensitive to some things. and boy does it burn. about the only way to keep him from scratching would be to cover it and I don't know how you could do that since it's right in the middle of his eyes just keep putting neo or some other kind of antibiotic ointment on it maybe that will help with the itch. make sure none has pain relief in it.

Also you can wash with saline to help heal quicker or put ACV into drinking bucket he'll wash his head and ACV helps to heal.
