Pilgrim geese

I looked at Ideal to see what kinda geese they have and they no longer have Pilgrims. To late in the breeding season for pilgrims now. Gonna have to wait till next year. Check out http://metzerfarms.com for pilgrims next year though.

Yeah. It is a little bit late in the season. Most geese only lay in the Spring. I know that our Pilgrim Geese only lay about 35 eggs a year and that is if we remove every single egg without allowing them to raise any goslings of their own...

If you decide to go with Metzer Farms you should contact them now and get on a waiting list for next year. But just be warned, John told me the pilgrims were so popular this year they might not sell any next year to increase their breeding stock. I got a pair from them this April and let me tell you if I had known how much fun these two would be I would have got them years ago!

i found a local breeder here in OK. countryhatchery.net 5 pilgrims for 105 was this years price. Of course, it's too late to get any this year. sad. but I'm planning on using them nest year. The Smiths have a fine reputation for good birds.

I'm correcting my post. i emailed them today and they no longer do pilgrims. so I've got my name on the waiting list at Metzers fro spring goslings. These are kinda hard to get.
