My Pilgrim girls have never offered to bite or attack, ever. I am still in search of a mate for them rather than the hybrid Chinese/African male they came with. Now he is most definitely a different story and is ALL attitude. When he starts up, the girls raise a huge fuss because he does and it stresses them. But, understand there will always be a leader, and it can either be him or you.
He raises a huge hissing fuss when I come down, wings spread, snaking, and loud, but I got my bluff on him day one. He knows now I can and will take him down if I have to sit on him. He fusses, but he will not test my will and always backs down.
I would dearly love to have a Pilgrim gander for my girls and breed pure stock. They are well worth it and there are so few Pilgrims available out there. Just breeding meat geese was not what I had in mind.
I agree about many not knowing what they have. Once a lady wanted to sell me her "Pilgrims." She had Toulouse. I thanked her and told her they really were not what I was looking for, because you know nothing I said would have ever changed her mind.
