pilgrims

Both are boys, the girls have olive toned beaks and darker down. My 2 pilgrim ganders are 11 weeks old now, here is a picture of them at 9&1/2 weeks

They are best friends-although they like to argue about who is boss quite a lot. They both survived brooder pneumonia and are huge and healthy.

Good luck on your boys, make sure to post some pictures of their growth progress!

Thanks! Here's one more pic. I posted this on another thread also - because they're so flippin' cute!

Heres a pic of my pilgrim Gus Gus.. He is 7 weeks old. If you notice his tail and rump, he has a lot of grey..
Also, in the second pic, you can see it a bit, but hes got grey in his wings. the feathers closest to his body..
Is this normal? Will they go away when he molts?

The toulouse (it is a toulouse, right? the feedstore didnt know) is about 7-8 weeks old and the roman tufted are 4 weeks old.. This was there first time in the big pool.

I gave them their first bath tonight. The middle one, who is more fearful, was a little scared at first. All of them just loved it. I put a lot of soft grass sprigs in the tub, and kept the water shallow enough that they were standing.

They are so much cleaner afterwards -- its great. I'm looking forward to them being outside and having a pool.

Rose is the oldest -- 2 1/2 weeks:

Constance is the middle gosling -- 1 1/2 weeks old:

Jack is my new pride and joy -- I really wanted a gander. He is a week old tonight:

BTW -- notice the splatter on the walls of the brooder - I have been swapping the tubs out daily -- this is since morning. How old do they need to be before I can switch them to dry food? It would make a lot less mess.

I know not yet - but I'm thinking when they are about 8-10 weeks old?

Ive always fed mine dry food.. I didnt know anything about giving them wet food...

I give mine flock raiser and unlimited grass. When they were in the brooder, I would pick handfulls of grass and put in the brooder.. some of it in the water, some just scattered all over.. As they got older, I would put them in a small pen outside with shelter from the sun/rain so they got fresh grass for at least 5 hours a day... When they got too big for my brooder, I put them out with the 2 older geese.. and theve been doing great.
